Gail Szostek has a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, Certified Arborist and Tree Risk Assessor designations, and over 25 years of experience in the field. She has worked in both public and private sectors; in agricultural and urban settings. Gail has also worked in environmental areas especially around streamside setbacks, restoration projects, and agricultural impacts.

She has been heavily involved in Education and Outreach, and sits on the Board of Dirctors for Horticulture Education BC (HortEdBC), and for the Society of Organic Urban Landcare (SOUL). She has always had a hand in teaching agriculturally related courses, and currently instructs the Organic Master Gardener Course in Maple Ridge, BC. With high energy and charming personality, Gail brings a wealth of knowledge and a demand for hands-on practical components to her educational courses.

Gail lives in Maple Ridge with her husband, 3 daughters, dog, cat and fish. She delights in the outdoors, and spends most of her non-work hours there, hiking, cycling, or canoeing.
